I probably should have mentioned on the last post that in the top row of the PET scan images, the black spots on my lungs are the cancer. I got the processed images from the first and last scans, so now you can see the real comparison between April and August. I’ve included what Hubs calls the “alien robot” images too. The top two images (before chemo) show the cancer in my lungs (the black spots on the left and the bright white spots on the right). The bottom two images are of the same (or close to the same) “slice” from my post-chemo PET. No black spots/bright white spots that the untrained eye can see. Try as I might (and believe me – I have tried), I can’t identify the little spot that’s supposedly still there. I believe the experts that it’s there, but not being able to see it makes me very happy.
– Thanks to my brother’s comment, I corrected my recumbent bike speed a few posts back. That’s 63 RPM, not MPH. Doh! Lindsey Wagner, I am not.
– To answer Brenda’s question, I’m keeping the port in until the next scan, just to be sure nothing grows back (especially around that invisible speck) and that I don’t need it anymore. Of course, I’m not considered cured until I make it 5 years without a recurrence, but I’m not keeping the port THAT long.
