Last night, after dinner, I normally would have been crashed out on the couch. But the 100mg of prednisone had me going bonkers. I sat on the couch and felt like I was vibrating. The previous two days, I’d had benadryl with my infusions, so that cut the impact of the prednisone down. But yesterday, it was full strength. Wowsers. Thankfully, by 8pm, I started to chill out. I took my lorazepam and was in bed by 10 – and FEVER FREE!
When I woke up this morning, I was really groggy. I was surprised, because I slept so well. But, I got up, Mere and I did our breakfast thing, I took my meds, and got her off to school. I had hoped the fog would lift once the prednisone kicked in, but it’s hung around. Still, life goes on. I showered, got dressed, and headed out for my wig appointment.
Carol, the volunteer, was very nice. She had me try on several wigs, but I ended up taking the one that Mere liked from the catalog. After all, I’m mostly doing the wig thing for her. She’s afraid she’ll be scared of me when I’m bald, and while I don’t care what anyone else thinks of how I look, I do want my girl to be happy and comfortable with me. Maybe I’ll wear the thing once in a while for going out on the town, but being that the warm weather is headed in, I know I’m going to want comfort more than anything, and that wig is going to be HOT, so I’m sure you’ll see far more of me in bandannas and hats. Oh, and besides the wig, I got a really cute purpleish scarf that I’ll save to photograph another day – for another post. 🙂
Enjoy the collage of me and the wigs. I’m going to see about shagging up the top of the winner wig, to give it some more “me” style. Gotta find a stylist who is good with trimming wigs, and I’ll be set. Oh, also of note – I ordered my eyebrow wigs from eyebrowz.com. I figure it’ll be good to get them sooner rather than later, so I can trim them to look like my own.
I want to take a quick moment to thank all of you who are following on here, texting, emailing, Facebooking, checking in, leaving comments, inappropriate jokes, and sharing your love, prayers, juju and all of that. It makes me feel even better on my good days, and I know you’ll all be such a comfort on the bad days when they inevitably show up now and then. Love you all!

Personally, I think you should try blue or hot pink. I hear all the cool kids are dying their hair with vivid color!

If they weren’t so darn expensive, I’d say get a few and change it up- go crazy! But I like the one you chose…it’s definitely the most natural “you”! You’re a total bandana girl though…so I think that is going to be your best look!! 🙂

Funny, Kris – the bottom right (south/east corner) is the only one I don’t like! Deb, I think you look fab in each of them….but remember that I liked your short haircut last week, too. Which was the one that Meredith likes best? Also, I like the scarves – you look good with them because you have a nice shaped head. I went to the eyebrow web site – pretty amazing, too. Sending you love and so glad you are up for some X-rated humor. . .
