What does “a headache like my head against a board” feel like? Why did Emily feel that an actual verb was superfluous? Just to get the rhythm right? Because just leaning my head against a board might actually feel good, but banging it against the board would probably not. That’s always bothered me.
Anyway, yesterday I was definitely closer to fine than I have been in nearly two weeks, but this morning the bitch is back. Is it bad form to mix musical metaphors? Not that I really care about that when my brain is all hurty again. I was really hoping to be able to cut down on the caffeine today and do something productive and vertical, but I don’t know that it’s gonna happen. Heck, It’s after 1pm and I’m still in my PJs. Maybe I’ll change into actual clothes and see how that feels.
On the feline front, I miss having my kitties around, though I am sleeping better without Alex bathing my head with sandpaper every night. I started the boys on their transdermal happy gel last night. I’m hoping to let them out of the basement in a week or so. Fingers crossed that my carpets stay clean once I do.
Original Comments from the CaringBridge Blog:
Trader Jo’s has a very good scratching pad with catnip included. We have two of them in our bedroom to save the carpeting and a few others scattered around. The diffusers didn’t work too well for us. I think they work best in a small room with the door closed. I hope your kitties cooperate and get to cuddle with you asap.

Have you talked to your oncology RN about this? Wondering if the blood patch didn’t “take” or it could be a side effect of one of your other daily meds. Hopefully it resolves soon!!

Have you used Feliway diffusers for the kitties? I know they help keep Lizzy a whole lot calmer also there are supplements called Composure made by Vetri Science. I get it either at the vet or on Amazon. Just possibilities to add to the arsenal. Sorry about the head, I hope tje blood patch took and it is just taking time to have your pressure build up. Those with my disease build pressure really fast because that is the problem in the first place, excessive CFS. Maybe add some leafy greens, sweet potatoes, carrots and anything high in Vitamin A. It encourages CFS production. Get veritical as much as possible and I hope you feel better fast.

Debbie, there is so much good shit you can watch on “TV” is you have an iPad. Do you??? I don’t know what your set-up is, but CATASTROPHE on Amazon is brilliant: LAST MAN ON EARTH, NURSE JACKIE, HOUSE OF CARDS………and then there’s great music if you have Sirius on your iPhone…..If you have none of these things, make Meredith read to you!!!
